We found a massive, beautiful tree root with amazing patterns in the mountains. Twisted as if kneaded by the hands of the earth, or as if it had struggled to grow this way on its own. The bark had long peeled away, revealing the wood’s grain, like the veins on an old man’s hand, whispering of some hidden vitality.
We stayed there for a while, sitting on the ground, leaning against the root, drawing strength from nature. Buried deep in the soil, it seemed to have fused with the mountain — no longer just a tree, but the skeleton of the mountain itself.
Later, rain began to fall in the mountains. Water trickled along the grooves, and the root darkened in the dampness. Reluctantly, we bid it farewell. Some beauty is destined to belong only to these deep, untamed woods.
